Yarm and Stockton Town Centre Parking Consultation

Closed 13 Oct 2025

Opened 15 Sep 2025

Overview

In October 2024, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet approved the removal of the first free hour of car parking across Council owned car parks in Stockton and Yarm.

The decision was taken with the aim of balancing the need to cover the costs of maintaining and managing car parking, with ensuring the Borough's town centres remain appealing to shoppers and visitors.

At that time, Cabinet also committed to reviewing the new arrangement at a future date.

As part of the review we want to hear from residents, visitors, local businesses and their customers so we can gain a thorough understanding of the impact the change has had since it was implemented in February 2025.

With that in mind, please complete this short survey about car parking in Stockton and Yarm town centres. It should only take about 5 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous and confidential.

The views shared will form part of the detailed review, alongside information and data from other sources, such as footfall and dwell time data.

The review findings will be considered by the Council’s Cabinet in December 2025.
