Local Plan Call For Sites

Overview

Submissions will be used in the preparation of the Land Availability Assessment and other relevant evidence base documents which will help inform the new Stockton-on-Tees Local Plan.

It is important to note that submission of a site does not confirm that that development will be supported, a planning application approved, or the site allocated within the emerging Local Plan. Submitted sites will be used to determine land availability across the Borough.

You can submit the following development types through this process:

• Residential accommodation including uses such as care homes
• Industrial uses linked to key economic growth sectors in our Borough
• Commercial including offices, retail, leisure, hotel and other uses
• Mixed use this could include a development combining residential and commercial uses
• Community and public service infrastructure such as health, education, cultural, open spaces, sport and/or recreation facilities
• Energy generation including renewable, low carbon energy and battery storage
• Green Infrastructure such as biodiversity or other environmental enhancement schemes

Sites submitted must meet the following criteria:

• be a minimum of 0.25 hectares, or
• can demonstrate that they can deliver more than 5-dwellings, or
• at least 500sq.m of commercial floorspace.
